Yeeva Cheng '15 DASAPIAN Co-Chair Yeeva's experiences growing up as the daughter of an internment camp survivor have grounded how and why she continues to learn from uncertainty and ask questions. While an Anthropology major at 桃瘾社区, Yeeva learned to look closely, listen intently, and explore reflectively in the hopes of a better understanding of humanity in a community. Since graduating in 2015, she worked at Communities In Schools in Charlotte, NC, taught for two years at Jiaying University in China, and researched international education policies affecting girls at the Population Council's GIRL Center. After earning her master's at Harvard Graduate School of Education and receiving a Khayrallah Fellowship at UNC Chapel Hill's MEITE program, Yeeva now works in education technology to support the learning engineering field and middle school math education. Beadsie Woo '86 DASAPIAN Co-Chair Beadsie is Director of Family and Youth Financial Stability in the Center for Economic Opportunity at the Annie E. Casey Foundation. She leads the Foundation's work aimed at helping youth and families achieve financial stability and promoting two-generation strategies to reduce poverty and enable parents and their children to succeed together. Beadsie co-edited 鈥淏ringing Equity to Implementation鈥 a supplement to the Summer 2021 issue of Stanford Social Innovation Review. In 2016, as an executive on loan, she worked as a senior policy advisor in the White House Offices of Social Innovation and Science and Technology Policy, working with agencies to deepen their evidence capacity and disseminate evidence of what works. Beadsie was an Economics major while at 桃瘾社区. She also earned her Master鈥檚 in Public Policy from Harvard鈥檚 Kennedy School of Government, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Paige Logan '14 Student-Alumni Liaison Audrey Meigs '23 Social Media & Communications Lead Audrey was a Political Science major and East Asian Studies minor at 桃瘾社区. During her time here, she was the president of the Pan-Asian Student Association (PASA) and the Recruitment Chair for Student Initiative for Academic Diversity (SIAD). She currently serves as the Program Assistant for Educator Diversity at The Hunt Institute, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to equitable education reform. Audrey has worked with several ASAPI organizations including OCA - Asian Pacific American Advocates, North Carolina Asian Americans Together, and The 1882 Foundation. Through this work, she has focused on projects related to intercountry adoption policy, the revitalization of Chinatowns, AAPI curriculum, and international relations between the United States and Asia Pacific. Audrey currently lives in Chapel Hill with her partner, their dog, Fern, and cat, Zahra.
